Mythical Legend - Race Horse
6 years old. Midnight Legend (13.3f) — Materiality (Karinga Bay (12.7f)) - Trained by Emma Lavelle - Horse Racing Trainer
Mythical Legend is a 6 year old mare by Midnight Legend. She unfortunately picked up a small injury at the beginning of last season, however she is now back in full training for the season ahead. She is big and scopey, and has a great attitude. She had two runs in bumpers where she was green on her first run to finish fifth, before finishing runner-up on her second start, with the pair pulling well clear. We will start her in two and a half mile novice hurdles and Emma thinks she should make up into a quality National Hunt mare.

That was a slightly odd performance from Mythical Legend. She was on-and-off the bridle at the back of the pack and looked set to finish completely tailed off, but she made strong late progress to finish a respectable sixth. On this evidence she clearly needs a stiffer test so perhaps a step up to 3m is called for now that she can move into handicap company.

It’s fair to say that Mythical Legend was disappointing today as she was in trouble from an early stage and never looked like getting involved, eventually finishing a lot further behind winner The Vocalist than she had when they met at Fontwell last month. Tackling bad ground on her second run back from a break is a valid excuse and she deserves a chance to fulfil the potential she showed first time out in more suitable conditions.
She knocked her leg rather badly in this race and has had a quiet couple of months since. She is now ready to go racing again!

That was a great first run in our colours for Mythical Legend. She never threatened to land a blow against the first two but they had shown decent form in recent months whereas our mare was returning from a long lay-off. She saw off the rest comfortably and even minimal improvement would make her hard to beat in similar company next time.
