Beverley - British Racecourse
A fabulous Yorkshire track founded in 1752.
In 1752, the Jockey Club was founded and the first Grandstand at the racecourse was built in 1767. In the last five decades, they have extended and modernised the course to offer racegoers top quality racing and excellent facilities. Set on the historic "Westwood" area of common land, high above the market town of Beverley, this welcoming racecourse provides the perfect location for a rural afternoon or evening of Flat racing. It boasts modern stands with an uninterrupted view of the mile and a half circuit. A tough, right-handed circuit with an uphill climb to the finish of three furlongs, the course often finds out those with insufficient stamina levels. The five-furlong races often attract several decent juveniles that go on to prove themselves at a far higher level later in the season. With good facilities and a buzzing atmosphere, Beverley's three evening meetings are particularly well attended. Accompanied under 18s are free at all meetings.
Right-handed 1m3f oval, generally galloping, with very stiff 5f course.
